    Toward high-definition reservoir characterization

    Get PDF
A new methodology for high resolution reservoir characterization is proposed. It combined the advantages of the surface seismic (low resolution, large coverage) and crosswell seismic (improved resolution, small coverage).;The process involves deconvolution of a low resolution signal (surface seismic traces) into a high resolution crosswell seismic trace. The problem has multiple solutions and an analytical solution is hard or difficult to be developed.;This project proved that it is possible to predict high-resolution crosswell seismic traces using low-definition surface seismic traces. The statistical comparison between the real and the synthetic crosswell seismic traces gives confidence that future work in this area worth the effort.;The ultimate goal of this work is to be a part of an intelligent tool that will be able to provide, based on surface seismic, a volumetric, detailed picture of rock and fluid characteristics across the field

Toward a Pentecostal Understanding of Communio Sanctorum: Reflections on Peter Kuzmič & Miroslav Volf ’s “Theology of the Church as a Fellowship of Persons” in the Context of the Pentecostal-Roman Catholic Dialogue

The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the Pentecostal understanding of the communion of saints by critically engaging with the ecclesiological vision of two world-class Pentecostal theologians from post-communist countries: Peter Kuzmič and Miroslav Volf. The paper has three sections: in the first one, a brief historical and theological overview of the doctrine of communio sanctorum is presented, to both set the stage for the core of the paper, and to point out the usefulness of reflecting on this particular ecclesiological topic. The second section offers an outline of “Perspectives on Koinonia” (the final report from the Third Quinquennium of the Pentecostal-Roman Catholic Dialogue), focusing on the first round of talks (Riano, Italy, 1985), which were on the topic of communio sanctorum. In the third section, the author presents and engages with Kuzmič & Volf’s paper, “Theology of the Church as a Fellowship of Persons” which represents one of the earliest attempts to articulate a Pentecostal ecclesiology based on the notion of communio sanctorum. In the end, the author will attempt to show how this ecclesiological vision helps the shaping of a Pentecostal theology of public life

Proposals to Improve the Fight against the Evasion Phenomenon

Economic evolution has a major impact on the social stability and national security with all its components. Consequently, the evolution of economic indicators in a negative direction affects the economy as a whole, as well as security with all the sectors that make up. Analyzing the national economy, certain categories of risks can be identified which may have an impact on economic security, such as: commercial risks arising from non-compliance with contractual provisions consisting in failure to pay in the relationship between traders, indirectly reducing the amounts paid to the State; tax hazards that consist of diminishing or hiding taxable measures by taxpayers, thus reducing the sums collected to the village budget; competitive risks that have the highest degree of monopolisation of the national economy and which have the effect of increasing structural inflation, lowering the level of quality of goods and services and supplying inflationary stocks; financial risks caused by the degree of protection of market funds, consisting of deposits with banks and investments in the capital market; foreign exchange risks arising from the foreign currency depreciation of the domestic currency

Promišljanja o dokumentu „Communio sanctorum: Toward a Theology of the Church as a Fellowship of Persons“ Petera Kuzmiča i Miroslava Volfa, u kontekstu dijaloga između Pentekostalne i Katoličke Crkve

Bath-Induced Collective Phenomena on Superconducting Qubits : Synchronization, Subradiance, and Entanglement Generation

    Get PDF
A common environment acting on a pair of qubits gives rise to a plethora of different phenomena, such as the generation of qubit-qubit entanglement, quantum synchronization, and subradiance. Here, time-independent figures of merit for entanglement generation, quantum synchronization, and subradiance are defined, and an extensive analytical and numerical study of their dependence on model parameters is performed. A recently proposed measure of the collectiveness of the dynamics driven by the bath is also addressed, and it is found that it almost perfectly witnesses the behavior of entanglement generation. The results show that synchronization and subradiance can be employed as reliable local signatures of an entangling common-bath in a general scenario. Finally, an experimental implementation of the model based on two transmon qubits capacitively coupled to a common resistor is proposed, which provides a versatile quantum simulation platform of the open system in any regime.Peer reviewe

Towards a P Systems Pseudomonas Quorum Sensing Model

    Get PDF
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic bacterium that exploits quorum sensing communication to synchronize individuals in a colony and this leads to an increase in the effectiveness of its virulence. In this paper we derived a mechanistic P systems model to describe the behavior of a single bacterium and we discuss a possible approach, based on an evolutionary algorithm, to tune its parameters that will allow a quantitative simulation of the system.Kingdom's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council EP/D021847/
